Roadmap

What's being built, and what you asked for.

Everything here comes from what people using Link Signals tell us. Suggestions are published once we've read them, then planned, built and shipped, in that order. Paid plans can suggest ideas. Anyone signed in can report a problem and vote on the ones that matter to them.

Feature14 Oct

Trust a link you meant to have

On the paid plans, a client logo, partner or sponsor that is flagged can be trusted: later scans and monitoring still read it, count it as safe while it stays no more serious, and flag it again if it gets worse. A rescan lists it on its own and never calls it fixed.

Feature13 Oct

A page for every common question

An FAQ with a page for each of 31 questions, grouped by topic, and a Read the full answer link on every FAQ item across the site.

Feature13 Oct

A re-check makes its own report

A re-check never rewrites the scan it was run on. It makes a new report, set against the original.

Feature13 Oct

A scan looks ahead before it spends link checks

The first pages are read on their own and the cost of the whole site is projected, so a scan that clearly would not fit is stopped before it uses any of your link checks.

Feature13 Oct

Asked before link checks are spent

Re-check and Scan again ask whether your site has been updated, and show how many link checks you have left.

Feature13 Oct

Fixed means a link was removed

A link still on the page that is no longer flagged is shown as no longer flagged, with what was seen, and is not counted as fixed.

Feature13 Oct

LinkSignal: one score for a site’s external links, with its working shown

Link Signals’ own score out of 100, built only from what this tool found and checked, with every lost point attributed to links you can open. A hub and a page for every part of it explain it, and it is not connected to any search engine’s score.

Feature13 Oct

Ranking credit going to flagged links

How many of your followed external links, and what share, pass credit to a flagged destination, counted from what was recorded.

Feature13 Oct

Scan again, compared with the last scan

A rescan is labelled, counted the same way as the scan it repeats, and compared with it link by link, with what we saw for every link that is no longer flagged.

Feature13 Oct

Scans that stop early are labelled

A scan that reaches its limit says so everywhere, is scored as provisional, and never lists what it did not reach as fixed.

Feature13 Oct

Suggesting a feature is part of the paid plans

Anyone signed in can still report a problem, ask a question and vote on the roadmap.

Feature13 Oct

Warnings before a linked domain expires

Monitoring emails once when a domain you link to comes within 30 days of running out, and again within 7.

Feature13 Oct

What to fix, in order, with every number linked

The overview is a list of steps in priority order. Each number opens the links it counts, and expiry dates show in the lists.

Feature12 Oct

A card for each kind of risky content

Pharma, adult, gambling, malware and more each get their own card, most serious first, linking to those links.

Feature12 Oct

Monitor this site, from any report

One button starts monitoring, or a free trial, depending on your plan.

Feature12 Oct

Overview dashboard with an action plan

A card for each part of the scan, most urgent first, each with its numbers and what to do.

Feature12 Oct

Plan advice when you load a sitemap

See your plan, your site's size and the smallest plan that covers it, so you never pay for more than you need.

Feature12 Oct

Re-check only the links you have fixed

Check just the flagged links again, without a full scan. The report, its numbers and the Sites page update straight away.

Feature12 Oct

Reviewed links are checked again

Mark a finding reviewed and the next scan reads the page again before it calls the link resolved.

Feature12 Oct

Scan emails ordered by priority

The email after a scan leads with the most serious finding and groups the rest in the same order as the report.

Feature12 Oct

Share a report with a link

Send a client or colleague a read-only link, and turn it off when you like.

Feature12 Oct

Sites: every check of a site, and what changed

A page for each site with flagged links over time and what is new since the last check.

Feature12 Oct

The numbers that matter, large, at the top

Open findings, what needs action now, what is resolved, and how many linked domains expire soon, with monitoring one click away.

Feature12 Oct

Your own domain, certificate and HTTPS

Every scan reads when your domain and certificate run out and how your site serves HTTPS.

Feature12 Oct

Your own priority order

Paid plans can reorder what matters most. The report, the overview and the email follow it.

Feature10 Oct

A free monitoring trial

Try monitoring on one site, free, before choosing a plan.

Feature10 Oct

Expired, unregistered, parked and new domains

Links are checked against the domain registry, not only the page they lead to.

Feature10 Oct

nofollow, sponsored and ugc

Links are read for their rel markers, with advice on flagged links that still pass ranking credit.

Feature9 Oct

Cloaked and script-injected links

Compares what search engines, visitors and scripts are shown, to catch spam hidden from the site owner.

Feature9 Oct

Scans run in the background

Close the page and we email you the findings when the scan is done.

Feature9 Oct

Site monitoring with alert emails

Re-checks a sitemap on a schedule and emails you when something new turns up.
