Who can do what
| Free plan | Paid plans | |
|---|---|---|
| Report a problem | Yes | Yes |
| Ask a question | Yes | Yes |
| Vote on the roadmap | Yes | Yes |
| Suggest a feature | No. You are shown why, and the plans. | Yes |
Suggesting a feature is part of the paid plans. Problems and questions stay free, because a wrong result or an unclear page is something we need to hear about whoever you are, and everyone signed in can still vote on the ideas that are already on the roadmap.
Which kind to choose
| Choose | When |
|---|---|
| Something’s wrong | A report is wrong, a page does not work as described, an email did not arrive or a number looks off. |
| An idea (paid plans) | You would like Link Signals to do something it does not, or to do something it does in a different way. Suggesting a feature is part of the paid plans. On the free plan the option is there, with an explanation and a link to the plans. |
| A question | You are unsure how something works and the guides have not answered it. |
Writing feedback that helps
- Say what you were doing. “I loaded my sitemap and ran a scan” is more useful than “it failed”.
- Say what you expected, and what happened. The gap between the two is the problem.
- Name the finding or page. For a report, give the destination and the page it was found on, or use the link in the report so the page is filled in for you.
- Give the reason for an idea. “I manage twelve client sites and want to…” tells us more than the feature alone.
- Keep passwords and private details out. The form is for describing the problem. It never needs a login.
| Harder to act on | Easier to act on |
|---|---|
| The scan is wrong. | The report flags a link to a university site on my chemistry page as pharma. The page is a reading list, and I expected no flag. |
| Add more export options. | I send clients a monthly spreadsheet. I would like it to show whether each finding was reviewed, so they can see progress. |
| Monitoring didn’t work. | I added my sitemap on Monday and have had no “now watching” email. The Monitoring page says Checking now. |
Reporting a wrong finding
A flagged link that is fine is a false positive, and reports of them are some of the most useful feedback. Use Something wrong with this report? in the report, say which destination you mean and why you think it is fine. Read accuracy and limits first, because some limits are known and described there. In the meantime a harmless finding in a monitored site can be ignored, and in a one-off report it can be marked reviewed.
What happens next
| Status | Meaning | Public? |
|---|---|---|
| Received | We’ve got it and haven’t read it yet. | No |
| Suggested | We’ve read it and published it as an idea people can vote on. | Yes |
| Planned | Decided, and next in line. | Yes |
| In progress | Being built now. | Yes |
| Shipped | Live. If it was yours, we email you. | Yes |
| Declined | We won’t do it, at least for now. | No |
Nothing is public until we publish it, and what appears is a title and summary we write, never your own words, your email address or your site. The public roadmap shows what is suggested, planned, in progress and shipped.
Following what you sent
Everything you send is listed on the Feedback page with its kind, the date and where it stands. When we publish one, an on the roadmap link appears beside it. If it ships, we email you. Your own list is not visible to other users.
Voting
Anyone signed in, on any plan, can vote once on any published suggestion, planned item or item in progress, and take the vote back. Votes help us decide what to plan next. They aren’t a promise.
What shapes the roadmap
The roadmap is built from what people send in. Every iteration of Link Signals starts from it, apart from fixes and changes we’ve been asked to make directly.
That is why a short, specific note is worth sending even when it seems small. Several people describing the same difficulty is the clearest sign of what to build next. The roadmap is also where to look before you write: if your idea is already there, a vote adds more than a second copy.
Questions
Why can’t I suggest a feature on the free plan?
Feature suggestions are part of the paid plans. You can still report a problem, ask a question and vote on every idea on the public roadmap. Choose a plan to suggest features.
Can I see other people’s feedback?
Only what we have published on the roadmap. Everything else stays private.
Will you reply?
We read everything. If we have a question we’ll email you, and we email you when something you sent ships.
Do I need an account?
Yes. Feedback is for signed-in users, which keeps the roadmap free of spam.
What is the difference between a vote and a suggestion?
A suggestion is something you send in. A vote is your support for an idea we have already published. You can vote once on each and take the vote back.
If an idea gets many votes, will it be built?
Votes help us decide what to plan next, but they are not a promise.
Where do I see what happened to my feedback?
On the Feedback page, in the list of what you have sent. Each item shows its status, and published ones link to the roadmap.
The roadmap shows what is planned, in progress and shipped.
