Terms of Service

These are the terms for using Link Signals. They are written to be read: what you can do, what we promise, and where our responsibility stops.

About these terms

These terms are between you and Cultured Digital Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 11729823 (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Link Signals you agree to them. If you use it for an organisation, you confirm you can accept these terms for it. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.

What the service does

Link Signals reads the public pages listed in a sitemap you give it, collects the outbound links, checks where they lead, and reports links that look unsafe, out of place or broken.

Each scan also looks at the site you scanned: it reads the domain’s registration dates, connects to the site to read its security certificate, and checks how it serves HTTPS, so it can warn you before your own domain or certificate runs out. A report’s re-check reads only the pages your flagged links are on.

On plans that include monitoring, the service also re-reads a monitored sitemap on a schedule, compares the results with the previous check, and emails you when something new is flagged. Checks and alerts happen on a schedule, not in real time, and we do not promise that a check will run at a particular moment.

Our requests identify themselves as LinkSignalsBot. To compare what a page shows to an ordinary visitor with what it shows to a search crawler, the service also sends a small number of requests using a search-crawler-style user agent, from our own servers. They read public pages only, and are not sent by or on behalf of any search engine.

The reports are for triage. They show where to look and why, but they are not a guarantee. “No known issues” means nothing was found by the checks, not that a link is safe. Findings can be wrong in both directions, and you decide what to do about them. See accuracy and limits.

Your account

  • You sign in with a code or link we email to you, so keep access to that mailbox secure.
  • Give us a correct email address and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account.

Acceptable use

You agree to:

  • scan or monitor only sites you own, manage, or have permission to audit
  • not use the service to attack, overload or disrupt any website, or for anything unlawful
  • not get around the limits on your plan, or try to reach other people’s accounts or data
  • not interfere with or place an unreasonable load on the service

We may limit, suspend or end access if these terms are broken or the service is being abused.

Sharing, feedback and the roadmap

If you create a share link, anyone who has it can read that report until you turn it off, so share it only with people you trust. The report can include third-party content, as described below. If you send us feedback, you let us use it to improve the service without payment or credit. We may publish a short summary we write ourselves, and we won’t publish your words, your email address or your site. We don’t promise to build anything that is suggested or voted for.

Reports can contain third-party content

A report can show the titles, descriptions and addresses of other websites, including adult, gambling or otherwise offensive ones, because finding those is the point. Opening a flagged link takes you to a site we do not control, at your own risk.

Plans, limits and billing

  • There is a free plan and paid plans. The limits and prices for each are shown on the pricing page.
  • Paid plans are billed monthly in pounds sterling and renew until you cancel. Where we charge VAT, it is shown at checkout.
  • You can cancel at any time from Plan & billing. You keep your plan until the end of the period you have paid for. We do not refund part-months, except where the law requires it.
  • If a payment fails and is not put right, your account returns to the free plan.
  • We may change prices or limits. We will give at least 30 days’ notice by email before a change affects you, and you can cancel before it does.

What we promise, and what we don’t

We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Beyond that it is provided “as is”. We do not promise that it will always be available or error-free, that it will find every problem, or that every flagged link is harmful.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue or data, and our total liability to you in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected.

Ownership

Cultured Digital Ltd owns the service and its software. You keep ownership of what you submit, and you may use your reports for your own purposes and to advise your clients. Some data we use, such as domain blocklists, comes from third parties and is used under their licences.

Ending your account

You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing hello@linksignals.cloud. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Clauses that by their nature should continue to apply, such as those on liability and ownership, will do so after the account ends.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will update the date above and email account holders before it takes effect.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, although a consumer who lives elsewhere in the UK may also use their local courts.
