No longer flagged

A link that is still on its page but that the latest check does not flag. It is shown with what was seen, and it is never counted as fixed.

No longer flagged describes a link that is still on the page, but where the latest check finds nothing to flag. It is not the same as fixed. Nothing was removed or edited, so the honest wording is the one used: the link is there, and the check did not flag it this time.

Why it is kept apart from resolved

Resolved means the link, or its page, has gone. That is a change anyone can confirm. A link that is still there but no longer flagged is different, because the change is in the destination or in the check, and the owner of the page did nothing. A domain may have been renewed, a site may have been cleaned up, or a lookup may have answered differently. Counting it as fixed would claim credit for a change nobody made.

When a link you marked reviewed is read again and is still on the page but not flagged, its status becomes cleared, with a note giving how it was flagged before and what the check found now. It leaves the open findings but is counted apart from resolved. On a rescan, the same case is shown as “still there”, with a list of what differs where something recorded has changed.

Common misunderstandings

  • A cleared link is not safe for good. If a later check flags it again, it is reopened.
  • A check that could not reach the destination does not clear anything. Unreachable, blocked and error results leave the status as it was.
  • No longer flagged does not lower the count of fixes in a comparison. It is simply listed separately.
  • A link you have chosen to trust is not called no longer flagged either. A rescan lists it as “Trusted by you, so no longer counted”, and does not read its page again, so it says nothing about whether the link is still there.

Questions

Do I need to do anything about it?

Decide whether you still want the link. If the destination changed hands, it is worth looking at before you keep it. See reviewed and resolved.

Will it cost me points in my score?

Only while a check flags it. Once it is not flagged it stops being counted.
