FAQ

How do I share a report?

A finished report can be shared as a private link. The reader needs no account, sees that one report only, and you can switch the link off at any time.

Open a finished report from History, select Create a shareable link, then Copy link and send it. The person who opens it needs no account, can read that one report and nothing else, and cannot change anything. To stop it working, select Turn the link off.

  1. Open a finished reportChoose History, then the scan or monitoring check. The share box is under the summary paragraph. A scan that is still running cannot be shared yet.
  2. Create the linkSelect Create a shareable link, then Copy link. Making it again for the same report returns the link that already exists.
  3. Send itAnyone with the address can read the report, so send it only to people you trust.
  4. Turn it off when you are doneThe link stops working at once for everyone who has it. Sharing the same report again makes a new link, and the old one does not come back.

What the reader can and cannot do

QuestionAnswer
Does the reader need an account? No. A client can open it without signing up.
What can they see? That one report: the summary, the findings and the sites linked to. Not your other scans, your sites list or your account.
Can they change anything? No. It is read-only.
Will search engines list it?No. The page asks them not to index it, and the address is a long random string that cannot be guessed. Anyone who has the address can still open it.
Can I share a monitoring check?Yes, when the check has a finished report in History. The share box is in the same place.

Good to know

  • A link belongs to one scan. If you run another scan later, the link keeps showing the report it was made for until you share the newer one.
  • The reader sees findings in the priority order saved on your account, so the most urgent item comes first for them as well.
  • A report can include text taken from other people’s sites, such as titles and anchor text. The terms cover this.
  • Link Signals keeps a share link until you turn it off or close your account. The privacy notice lists the details.

Questions

Can I share a scan that is still running?

No. Link Signals asks you to share once the scan has finished, so the reader sees a complete report rather than one that is still filling in.

Can I get the same link back after turning it off?

No. Turning a link off ends that address for good. Sharing the report again creates a new address, which you then send to the people who need it.

Is the link tied to my site or my login?

It is tied to one report. The address does not contain your site name or your email, and it gives no access to anything else on your account.

Run a scan

Scan a site, then send the report to the person who needs to fix it.
